This is according to a report from Counterpoint Research where they found that the iPhone 12 is the best-selling 5G smartphone in October. The report measured data from January to October 2020, and despite the iPhone 12 launching later than previously expected, there were enough sales of the iPhone 12 to allow it to cinch its position.
According to the data, the base iPhone 12 model apparently commands 16% of the 5G smartphone sales, while the iPhone 12 Pro model grabbed about 8%. This is followed by the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra which managed to nab 4% of the sales, and interestingly enough, coming in fourth place is the mid-range Huawei Nova 7 5G, which is impressive.
Counterpoint claims that the reason for the iPhone 12’s success is due to heavy carrier marketing and promotions, plus the iPhone is said to be more widely available compared to some of the other phones on the list.
