The Apple 1 is one of the rarest computers in existence, simply because it isn’t being made anymore. However, it holds historical value as it marks the very early days of Apple. Those who own existing units can actually sell them for quite a bit of money, where one actually sold close to $1 million at an auction.
That being said, it seems that over at Caviar, they have decided to destroy a piece of tech history to make the monstrosity known as the iPhone 12 Pro Apple 1. As the name suggests, this is a Frankenstein device that combines the iPhone 12 Pro with parts of the Apple 1, which according to the company, would give you the chance to hold a piece of history in your hands.
The thing is, with the speed at which phones are being updated, the iPhone 12 would essentially be outdated the next year, and with Caviar charging a whopping $9,900 for it, we’re not sure who would actually buy such a device. Not to mention we have to say that it doesn’t look particularly nice.
It might be of interest to some collectors who see the value of owning a piece of history, but given that an Apple 1 was broken up just to make this, we’re not sure if it really holds that much value anymore, but hey, to each their own, right?
