Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be one of the biggest game launches of 2020, but unfortunately the various issues with the game at launch have marred it, to the point where Sony has delisted the game from the PlayStation Store and is also refunding gamers who aren’t satisfied with it.
However, it seems that despite these issues, Cyberpunk 2077 still managed to sell quite an impressive number of copies to date. According to the game’s developer, CD Projekt Red, they revealed to investors that Cyberpunk 2077 has managed to sell 13 million copies. This figure is based on the number of copies sold minus the refunds that they had to make, so when you take that into consideration, it’s quite impressive.
The developer does not mention how many copies were refunded so it is unclear how well the game would have actually done had there not been any issues with it, but like we said, 13 million is a staggering figure nonetheless and an accomplishment that simply cannot be ignored. It will be interesting to see how well the game will do during its lifetime, especially with the developers promising that they will be issuing patches over the next few months to address the complaints that gamers have had.
