As Many As 159 Base Stations Were Destroyed In The UK Over 5G Conspiracy Theories

5G is set to become the next standard in mobile connectivity and it’s something that many people around the world are waiting for. However, at the same time, there are also conspiracy theories floating about that suggests that 5G is causing health problems, where some believe that the radio waves emitted from 5G cell towers is somehow causing the coronavirus.

This has led to base stations getting destroyed, such as being set on fire. It turns out that there was a lot more damage done than we previously thought. According to the British Communications Authority, it appears that as many as 159 base stations in the country were attacked over these conspiracy theories.

They have estimated that as a result of the destruction of these base stations, a total of 170,000 hours of base station downtime was created. Not only are base stations being destroyed, these conspiracy theories have also fueled scams where people are selling what they claim to be “anti-5G” USB sticks that apparently will somehow “protect” people from the effects of 5G.

To date, there have been studies suggesting that 5G is not harmful to our health, but we suppose there are people who will choose to believe what they believe. The good news is that it appears that the number of attacks on these base stations are on the decline.
