Gaming consoles these days aren’t just for gaming, but are used for general entertainment purposes. This is perfect as it means that gamers won’t really need to go out and buy more hardware like set-top boxes or even buy a smart TV if they want to enjoy some of the more modern entertainment options.

In fact, Microsoft has confirmed that with the Xbox Series X and Series S, both consoles will come with a bunch of entertainment and streaming apps preinstalled on the consoles at launch. This means that gamers will be able to enjoy access to various services right out of the box in addition to gaming.

According to Microsoft’s announcement, “Just as we’re bringing forward all the games that play on Xbox One today, we’re excited to announce that your favorite entertainment apps you enjoy today on Xbox One will be available on Xbox Series X and Series S. That means your favorite streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Spotify, YouTube, YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, NBC Peacock, Vudu, FandangoNow, Twitch, Sky Go, NOW TV, Sky Ticket and more, will be waiting for you when you boot your new Xbox console on November 10.”

The Apple TV app will also be part of the launch, so if you don’t have an Apple TV box, not to worry as the app should more or less provide you with access to similar services.
