iPhone 12 Pro VS Samsung Galaxy Note Ultra Speed Test

Now that pretty much all of the 2020’s flagship phones have been released, which is the fastest amongst all of them? The folks at PhoneBuff decided to put it to the test by taking the recently released iPhone 12 Pro and stacking it up against the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which is the most powerful variant of the Note 20 series.

In case you don’t have time to watch the entire video, basically it seems that the iPhone 12 Pro blew the Note 20 Ultra out of the water in terms of speed. In the first round which calculates how long the phones take to launch apps, the iPhone 12 Pro took 1 minute and 41 seconds, while the Note 20 Ultra took about 1 minute 55 seconds, a good 14 seconds behind.

The second part of the test involved reopening the apps that it launched to test how well the phones manage their RAM. In the past, this is where Apple’s iPhones tend to trip up, but it seems that Apple has managed to address the memory management issues it had in the past where it took a total of 43 seconds to complete the second round, versus the Note 20 Ultra which took 46 seconds.

In total, the iPhone 12 Pro took 2 minutes 24 seconds to complete the entire test, leaving the Note 20 Ultra in the dust where it took 2 minutes 41 seconds. That being said, we are comparing apples to oranges here since both use different hardware and software, but if anything, this is an indication of how powerful the A14 Bionic chipset is and we can’t wait to see how it performs in Apple’s upcoming Apple Silicon Mac computers.
