However, the bad news is that if you enjoyed this free storage plan, you’ll be sad to learn that Google has since announced that they’ll be doing away with this free service come 1st of June, 2021.
According to Google, “Starting June 1, 2021, High quality and Express quality content will count towards your Google Account storage. Once you reach your storage limit, you can either subscribe to Google One (where available) for additional storage, or delete content in order to continue with the free storage option in Photos.”
This means that once you hit the cap, you’ll need to start managing your storage or purchase a Google One plan that starts at $1.99 a month for 100GB of storage. Admittedly this is actually rather affordable and 100GB will last you a very long time, but we suppose it’s a bit of a bummer to see this free service go away. You’ve got until June next year so that should be plenty of time for you to seek out alternatives or start managing your storage.
