Many have been wondering about the future of the Deadpool franchise. This is because now that Disney has bought Fox, and with the company known for their family-friendly content, many have expressed some concern that Deadpool might not necessarily fit into Disney’s family-friendly image.
However, for those hoping to see at least a third Deadpool movie, you might be interested to learn that a report from Deadline has revealed that the movie is still in the cards and that it might have even found its new writers – Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin, who some of you might recognize as being the writers for the popular animated series Bob’s Burgers.
The report claims that Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds has been receiving pitches from writers for the third installment in the franchise, and that they might have gone with the Molyneux sisters. The report also states that Marvel’s Kevin Feige will be involved with the movie in some capacity, and it will also be the first Deadpool movie to be produced by Marvel.
We’re not sure how Deadpool will turn out now that it is under the Disney/Marvel banner, and if there are plans to add the character to the MCU, but given the success of the first two movies, we can’t wait to see what a third Deadpool movie could bring to the table.
