What this means is that at the end of every month, starting November through January, users will be given $4.99 in credit (the tweet below is in Australian dollars). This credit will be applied to your Apple ID and according to Apple, this credit can be used for anything that you could buy on the App Store or movies purchased through the Apple TV app, meaning that you could in theory use it to offset any ongoing subscriptions to Apple’s products, or buy/rent movies through Apple TV, or even use it to purchase apps.

According to Apple, they claim that this credit is given as a thanks for subscribing to Apple TV+. There is no action required by the user meaning that this credit will be given to users automatically, so it’s up to you how you want to use it, where you could in theory accumulate it and purchase something big, or like we said, use it to offset your ongoing subscriptions. It’s actually a rather surprising move from Apple, but a welcome one nonetheless.
