Last year, Amazon decided to take the plunge and enter the world of smart glasses. This resulted in a device known as the Echo Frames which are a pair of prescription-ready smart glasses with Alexa built into them. However, they were only available to those who received an invitation to buy it.
For those who are curious about the Echo Frames and would like to check it out for themselves, you’ll be pleased to learn that Amazon has since announced that the Echo Frames are now available for purchase by anyone and that you will no longer need a special invite to get your hands on them.
Amazon has also made some changes from the original model. One of those changes comes in the form of improved sound delivery, where the original relied on open-ear speakers, but the new model will feature speakers that can automatically adjust the volume based on background noise. There is also improvement made to the battery life where it is said to be up to 40% longer, and comes with an auto-off feature.
The new Echo Frames are priced at $250, an increase from $180 from the original model. They’re not necessarily cheap for technology that many still consider novel, but if you’re interested, you’ll be able to pick up a pair from Amazon’s website.
