However, according to a report from Business Insider, it seems that Microsoft might have found a way around the problem, and that is through the web. Instead of launching Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as an iOS app, which would require them to adhere to Apple’s App Store rules, Microsoft is expected to launch the service as a web version so that iOS gamers can access it through their browser instead.
This would effectively allow Microsoft to skirt around the App Store rules while offering up the service to iOS users who want to take advantage of the service. For those unfamiliar, Apple did relax the App Store’s rules regarding game streaming services, but stipulated that services would need to ensure that the games offered are also listed as individual offerings in the App Store making them subject to Apple’s review.
In some instances, it would be impossible because not all games are created for mobile or computers, meaning that it would not make sense for a company like Microsoft to submit a game clearly designed for the Xbox to the App Store. Microsoft did previously voice their displeasure, but it seems that they might now have a way around the issue.
