However, that could soon change according to a report from WABetaInfo who has found some evidence to suggest that WhatsApp for the web could soon be introducing video and voice calling capabilities. Honestly, this doesn’t really come as a surprise. In fact, the surprise is more that WhatsApp has taken this long to introduce these capabilities.
Given that WhatsApp is owned by Facebook and Facebook Messenger already offers similar features on the desktop, along with other messaging clients, it was more of a matter of when rather than if these features would come to WhatsApp for the web. In this day and age of video conferencing when it comes to work and school, such features might be greatly appreciated for those seeking alternatives.
It is unclear when these features will be rolled out, but the voice calling feature is in beta testing so hopefully it won’t be too long before they are released for the general public.
