Thanks to our mobile camera HardWare score called Uber HW Camera, we can accurately rank an unprecedented number of mobile camera systems.
Uber HW Camera is based on a proprietary algorithm that ranks the cameras’ potential based on their technical specifications.
The algorithm is sometimes tuned and adjusted with real-world image analysis from our image-based Uber IQ Camera benchmark (IQ = Image Quality). Common questions about Uber HW Camera are answered in our FAQ.
We have published two case studies of Apple vs. Samsung and Apple vs. Huawei using camera data from 2010 to 2020. Additionally, our iPhone 12 camera hardware analysis tells you what to expect from this new camera system(s).
Here are the freshly added scores for this week. You can click on the links to look at the full specifications of the phones, including individual cameras.

The new Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro (shown in this article’s photo) and the Vivo X51 5G (check our friends at MobileGeeks) were announced recently and seem like exciting camera systems in their respective price range.
In addition to the Google Pixel 5 camera hardware scores, we have recently published a complete Pixel 5 Camera Image Quality (IQ) review that you might enjoy since we partially compare it to Pixel 3, 3a, 4, 4a, and 4a 5G.
The primary change in the Google Pixel 5 is its Ultrawide secondary camera, which is very good. Note that the Pixel 4a 5G has an excellent camera value since it costs ~$200 less than Pixel 5, for the same camera experience. You’re welcome!
The Redmi 9C is more on the low-end of the spectrum, but at ~$120 retail, there’s only so much hardware the manufacturer can afford. Cool Redmi 9C photo from NicolasCatard btw (Instagram, in French).
