We’re sure that many of us have had moments where we know the lyrics to a song, but we don’t know what that song is called because believe it or not, some songs aren’t always named after their lyrics! If you’re stuck trying to find a song and if you’re a Spotify user, you’ll be pleased to learn that Spotify has gained a new search feature.

In case it wasn’t already obvious as to what we were alluding to, it seems that you can now search for songs on Spotify just by searching for its lyrics. Of course, given how generic some lyrics are, it might be a bit tricky, but you’ll be able to quickly search for songs and preview them to find the one you were thinking about.

It should be noted that this isn’t exactly a new feature per se because despite being later to the music streaming scene, Apple Music actually had the ability to search for songs by its lyrics for a while now, but it’s good to see that Spotify now has it too given that not everyone is an Apple Music subscriber.

To search songs by lyrics, simply go to the search bar and type the lyrics of the song and Spotify will attempt to bring up songs that contain those lyrics. Like we said, sometimes it can be a bit tricky with more generic phrases, but at least the option is there.
