They did mention it would be released in October, but did not say when. However, according to a tweet by leakster Jon Prosser, he claims that Apple will be sharing those release details on the 13th of October, which is when the company will be hosting its iPhone 12 event and where new products will be announced.
While we cannot confirm if this is true, to a certain extent it would make sense as Apple could easily use the event to slot in a release date, so do check back with us in the coming days to see if there are any details to be had.

For those who missed the announcement, the iPad Air is the latest tablet from Apple and comes with a brand new A14 Bionic chipset, a huge improvement over the A12Z that was used in the iPad Pro refresh earlier this year. It is also expected to be the same chipset that will find its way into the iPhone 12 series that will be announced this Tuesday.
