Gurman claims that Apple is expected to host another event in November where the new Mac computers will be announced, although which computers we can expect from this remains to be seen. However, we have heard that Apple could be planning on reviving the 12-inch MacBook with an ARM chipset, so that’s one possibility.
It has also been suggested that Apple might start off small and slow, where the first few models could be on the lower-end of things, so if you’re a professional looking for a high-end Mac, you might have to wait a bit. Apple has already offered some developers a chance to try out these ARM-based Macs when they released a developer’s kit that consisted of a Mac mini powered by the A12Z Bionic.
Benchmarks of that computer have shown great promise, and it is expected that the commercial release could consist of computers powered by an A14X chipset, a variant of the A14 chipset that is being used by the iPad Air and is also expected to find its way into the iPhone 12 series.
