This is because the company has announced an update to the Aurora R11 gaming PC in which it will now come with the option to configure it with NVIDIA’s RTX 30-series GPUs. This comes in the form of either the NVIDIA RTX 3080 or the higher-end RTX 3090, which Alienware claims have apparently been “custom-engineered” with advanced cooling and better thermal management.
That being said, the addition of these GPUs means that your configurations won’t come cheap. For example, choosing the RTX 3080 will set you back an extra $800 or so, while the RTX 3090 will cost you an extra $1,600. However, if you’re looking to future proof your next gaming PC and have it last you for the next few years, it might be an investment worth making.
Alienware will also be throwing in a free copy of Watch Dogs: Legion along with a 12-month subscription to NVIDIA’s GeForce Now game streaming service, although the latter does seem like a waste since one of the upsides of streaming games is that it takes away the need to own a high-end gaming PC, but hey, it’s there if you want it.
