The rumors had initially stated that the AirPods Studio will not be announced at Apple’s iPhone event, but it could be released later this month or next. This is because Apple was rumored to kick off mass production on the headphones only in late October, but now it turns out that the headphones will not be coming anytime soon, and could even be delayed to 2021.
This is according to Jon Prosser who tweeted that there have been some hiccups in the AirPods Studio’s production and that apparently certain “key features” have been cut, although we’re not sure what they might be. It would seem that Apple still needs to work on several things before the final units are ready.
It seems that these hiccups have been big enough where according to Prosser, the delay could be big enough to the point where he claims that the headphones will not be ready to ship until December “at best”, hinting that it is possible that they might be pushed to 2021 instead. It’s actually interesting to see how much trouble Apple is having with the rumored AirPods Studio.

However, they have been rumored to be more than just a regular pair of headphones, which could explain some of the issues at hand. Either way, don’t get your hopes up at seeing it anytime soon, although the good news is that as a result, the AirTags’ launch has been moved up and could now possibly be released in November.
