Say you’ve created a new graphic design project but you’re not too thrilled with the theme. Sure, you could always go back and recolor everything, but this can be a tedious process, especially if you’re not too sure about what colors you think might look good. Plus it is also a completely manual process so it can take some time.
However, Adobe is previewing a new feature that will be coming to its Illustrator software called Recolor Artwork – Color Theme Picker. Basically what this does is that users will be able to pick from different color palettes from Adobe’s website or import images with a specific color theme that they have in mind, and at a click of a button, your entire image will be recolored automatically around those colors you’ve chosen.
One of the benefits of working with vector graphics is that they tend to be easier to recolor, but like we said, it is typically a manual process. With this new feature, users will be able to explore a variety of themes and colors and have them applied in seconds, which means that you could go through dozens of different colors to find the one that you’re happy with.
It also makes it easier for you to retheme certain graphics around the holidays, where you could give a graphic design a more Christmas-y makeover with red, green, and white colors. This will be an improvement over Adobe’s current Recolor Artwork tool and the company expects to share more information at its Adobe MAX event that will be held towards the end of the month.
