For some odd reason, Apple Watch users could never stream Spotify directly from their smartwatches. However, for those who might appreciate such a feature, you’ll be pleased to learn that Spotify seems to be testing out the ability, although right now it doesn’t appear to be available for all users.
This seems to be some kind of server-side enabled feature because according to the reports, users don’t need to download a beta software in order to access it, but like we said, it doesn’t seem to be widely available just yet. Some users are reporting that they have the ability to stream directly from their Apple Watches, while others cannot.
Of course, such a feature would probably be a lot more useful for those who own the LTE version of the Apple Watch. This is because the whole point of a cellular version of the Apple Watch is to remove some dependence from the iPhone, and streaming music would actually be a pretty good reason.
This would come in handy for those who might be out for a run and don’t have or don’t want to bring their iPhones with them, and being able to stream music through the watch over LTE will be a most-welcome addition.
