The laptop has apparently been given the codename Sparti and according to Windows Central’s sources, it will feature a 12.5-inch display and will apparently be priced very competitively around the $500-$600 range. To give you some context, the current Surface Laptop 3 is priced starting at $1,000, so for Microsoft to launch a laptop at half the price would no doubt be very appealing.
Of course, 12.5-inches might be a bit small for some, but given that it is a laptop, it is meant to be portable and 12.5-inches would make it the ideal computer to take on the go. However, at those prices, you probably shouldn’t expect too much from it. The report alleges that we could be looking at 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and will come with Windows 10 in S mode, although it will use Intel’s 10th gen Core processors.
Take it with a grain of salt for now, but Microsoft is reported to be announcing new Surface products in October, so we should have more details soon.
