In case you’re unfamiliar, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is the remastered trilogy of the original Mass Effect games. The remaster was supposed to be released in October, but a report from GamesBeat is claiming that based on people familiar with the development of the game, it has instead been pushed to 2021.
According to their sources, the main holdup behind the delay is because of the first Mass Effect game. It seems that in terms of quality, it simply isn’t holding up quite as well compared to the other two titles, meaning that it would not only make bad first impression for new gamers, but it could also be a disappointing release for fans who had already played it and were hoping for a fresh take on the title.
That being said, it is unclear when exactly in 2021 will the title be released, except that it will apparently be in the “early” part of the year, so it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves.
