iPhone 12 Pro Models Will Have A Higher Base Storage

These days, most phones come with at least 128GB of storage. For some reason, Apple’s 2019 iPhone 11 series came with 64GB of base storage, which presumably is a way for Apple to either make the phone more affordable, or force customers to opt for the more expensive 256GB model.

If you’re not thrilled by that strategy, you could be in luck because according to a tweet by Jon Prosser, he claims that this year’s iPhone 12 Pro models could actually come with 128GB of base storage. This includes both the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. However, he does note that Apple will still use 64GB of storage, albeit for the “lower-end” models, the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12.

Apple is said to be preparing four iPhone 12 models this year, with a base 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. While the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 will cap at 256GB of storage, it is unclear how much storage the Pro and Pro Max models could feature.

Right now, the iPhone 11 Pro series maxes out at 512GB, but it is unclear if Apple could bump that to 1TB, or if the storage configurations will include 128GB and 256GB along with 512GB. Take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully we’ll have the official details in the coming weeks.
