This is according to a report from Jon Prosser who claims that apparently the 120Hz display did not make the cut during the mass production of the iPhone 12. Some of you might be wondering how can that be, especially since recent screenshots suggested that the feature was indeed in the works.
It is possible that Apple was testing out the various prototypes with and without the 120Hz display and might have included some settings in iOS 14 that would allow them to adjust the feature. Given that iOS 14 has not been released, it is also possible that this settings menu could disappear from the final build.

Companies do test features from time to time that show up in beta software, but they don’t always make the cut. We’re not sure why Apple has decided to ditch the 120Hz display, but for now, maybe don’t hold your breath. We can only hope that this faster display will arrive for 2021’s iPhones.
