Google has announced that for the iOS and Android Meet app, they will be introducing the same noise cancellation technology that they brought to the web version of Meet earlier this year. What this means that all the noise cancellation you need to ensure crisp and clear vocals will be accomplished mostly through software processing.
This eliminates the need for you to try and soundproof your room as much as possible, and given that this is the mobile version of the app, it will also mean that you should be able to enjoy clearer calls while on the go. In a video demo that we saw earlier this year, the software actually did a pretty good job of helping filter out unwanted noise while inside a room.
We’re not sure how much more effective it will be outside while on your mobile device, but hopefully it’ll be able to achieve the same results, if not better. The update to Meet should already be live so make sure that you have the latest version of the app on your iOS and Android device to take advantage of the new feature.
