This can result in older devices not getting updates for new features and whatnot, but the good news is that it looks like Fitbit is not abandoning its older models completely. In a somewhat surprising update, Fitbit has issued a new update in which some of the company’s older models are actually getting some new features.
This includes the new Active Zone Minutes feature that made its debut on the Fitbit Charge 4, which eventually found its way to the Versa 3, but now older Charge and Versa models are getting it too. There is also a new Health Metrics Dashboard that older devices can take advantage of, where they will be able to see biometric stats such as heart rate variability and also breathing rate.
However, software can only take users that far, but we suppose it’s still better than nothing. If you own an older Charge or Versa device, then be sure to check for the update if you’d like to take these new features for a spin.
