Apple Watch’s ECG Feature Expands To More Countries

One of the features Apple brought to the Apple Watch a while back was ECG monitoring. Unlike the heart rate monitor, the ECG monitor attempts to check your heart rate for any irregularities, which could be a sign of something wrong. However, given that this is classified as a medical feature, it wasn’t available worldwide when it launched.

To date, the ECG feature is still missing in many countries around the world, but Apple is working to bring them to more markets. The good news is that in the watchOS 7 update, the ECG monitoring feature has been expanded to more markets where it has found its way to Colombia, Israel, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Like we said, there are still plenty of markets around the world that the ECG feature is still not available in. This will depend on how quickly Apple is working to ensure that they meet the requirements of various medical regulators around the world, so it could take some time before it reaches everyone.

The latest Apple Watch Series 6 also comes with a new medical feature in the form of blood oxygen monitoring, which similar to the ECG monitoring tool, could take a while before it finds its way to the Apple Watch for users worldwide.
