Amazon Guard Plus Turns Your Echo Speakers Into Security Devices

Does your home have several Echo or Echo Dot speakers setup? Or are you looking for a relatively more affordable way of keeping your home safe when you’re asleep or if you’re away? If you are, then you might be interested to learn that Amazon has since announced its new Alexa Guard Plus subscription service.

What this does is that it takes advantage of Echo devices where it will use these speakers and their built-in microphones to detect unusual sound like footsteps and doors closing when you’re not home. When it detects these sounds, it will then send you an alert and if you have a home security camera, you can then check in to see what’s happening.

It will even be capable of playing sounds like the sound of a dog barking if it detects sounds coming from outside, or if it detects sounds inside, it can then play a siren, all of which are designed to help deter thieves. Alexa Guard Plus will also allow users to call for help, like an ambulance, police, or the fire department.
