In fact, if you’re curious about what it might be like to use a computer with an ARM-based chipset, you might want to check out Acer’s latest laptop – the Acer Spin 7. This laptop is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 platform that will not only improve on battery life, but will also be capable of providing 5G connectivity, better security and camera functions, as well as better AI acceleration.
The Acer Spin 7 is a hybrid laptop of sorts where as the name (and photos) suggests, it is a laptop whose 14-inch display can be folded to the back where it can be laid flat and be used as a tablet. There is even a built-in Wacom stylus which means that you can use it to draw and take notes if that’s your kind of thing.
Acer is boasting that the Spin 7 will offer “multiday” battery life, but stopped short of providing any actual figures, so it will be interesting to see how it compares to more traditional Intel-powered laptops. There is no word on pricing or availability just yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.
