A couple of weeks ago, Activision announced the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise in the form of Black Ops Cold War. For gamers who might be interested in checking out the game, you’ll be pleased to learn that Microsoft has since announced that the game is actually now available for pre-order and pre-download for the Xbox consoles.
There are several bundles that gamers can choose from, which includes the Standard Edition for $60, the Cross-Gen version that costs $70, and the Ultimate Edition that is priced at $90. We should point out that Black Ops Cold War will be cross-gen compatible, meaning that if you bought it for the Xbox One, you will be able to play it on the Xbox Series X.
This in turn is a bit confusing due to the Cross-Gen version, but the difference is that with the Standard Edition, you’ll essentially be playing the backwards compatible version of the game, while the Cross-Gen version will let you download the version designed and optimized for the Xbox Series X when it becomes available.
Also, gamers who pre-order the game regardless of which version they choose, will also be able to gain early access to the open beta when it launches. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is currently slated for a release on the 12th of November, 2020 and is available across multiple console platforms and the PC.
