For those who missed the previous announcements, basically Apple is expected to introduce a new 10.8-inch iPad. This iPad will borrow several design elements from the iPad Pro, including slimmer bezels around the display and also a smart connector on the back that would allow it to attach to accessories like Apple’s Magic Keyboard.
The report from 91mobiles also claims that this new tablet will cost $329 and will also come with Face ID, but this is a point of contention with 9to5Mac. According to 9to5Mac, they seem skeptical that Apple would introduce Face ID to a lower-end tablet while the more expensive upcoming iPad Air 4 will continue to use Touch ID in the power button.
It is possible that maybe these tablets are one and the same, and maybe someone got the names wrong. Either way, since these are leaks and aren’t official, it’s hard to say who is right. It’s probably best to take this with a grain of salt and hope that Apple will have something official to share in the coming month or two.
