4G Variants Of The Samsung Galaxy S20 Will Be Offered In Some Markets

Unlike last year’s Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones, Samsung made it a point to offer up 5G across all of its Galaxy S20 smartphones this year. This is no doubt good news for those looking to hop onto the 5G bandwagon, but at the same time, 5G still isn’t quite as widely-available around the world just yet.

For those countries and markets that have yet to roll out 5G, it seems that Samsung will actually offer up 4G variants for those markets. So far, these markets include the UK, mainland Europe, and India, just to name a few. For those living in the US, it seems that Samsung will only offer the Galaxy S20 in 5G, although we suppose that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Apart from the difference in 4G and 5G, the phones will be identical in terms of hardware and performance (aside from connectivity speeds). Also, if you were hoping that the 4G variant will be cheaper, apparently that will not be the case. This means that if you do have the option to buy the 5G model, then maybe you should.

At the very least once 5G does roll out in your region, you’ll be able to hop on it pretty much right away, instead of being stuck with the 4G model and having to buy a new 5G phone further down the road.
