As Google Maps turns 15 today, they will be rolling out a new look along with a bunch of new features to iPhone and Android smartphones to celebrate the occasion.
You can start noticing the new look if you’ve recently updated Google Maps today.
If you haven’t yet, we insist you update the app as soon as possible to experience the fresh look.
Along with a new look, the new update improves on a lot of things. To start with, you will get five new tabs to access things quicker than ever before.
The new tabs to access are as follows:
- Explore
- Commute
- Saved
- Contribute
- Updates
So, you can easily explore new places (restaurants, nearby attractions, etc.) in no time while also being able to keep up with the best route information for your commute (along with the real-time traffic details).
You can also save/bookmark your favorite places and access them under the “Saved” tab – which is pretty useful. If you’re someone who posts reviews or shares experience with fellow users, you can easily do that as well.
In addition to that, the “Updates” tab will let you know what’s popular nearby to make sure that you don’t miss anything good.
Along with the recent improvements, you will also notice new additions/improvements for Augmented Reality features and you can also check the temperature soon enough right inside the map. You can read more about it in their official announcement post.
