This will be the next mirrorless camera that will be coming from Canon and while we do not know when it will be released, Canon has teased some of its upcoming features. One of which is its video recording capabilities where the EOS R5 will be capable of capturing video footage at a whopping 8K.
If 8K is too much for you, not to worry because Canon also claims that the EOS R5 will be able to downsample 8K videos into sharper and higher quality 4K, which is currently more or less the video standard that many are shooting at. Other features include a mechanical shutter that Canon claims will be able to shoot in bursts of 12 FPS, or 20 FPS with the electronic shutter, thus allowing sports photographers to better capture the action at games.
There will also be the inclusion of in-body image stabilization and dual SD card slots. Like we said, Canon did not mention when the EOS R5 will be announced, but based on these features, it is definitely a camera worth keeping an eye out for in the near future.
