TCL’s Alto 9+ SoundBar Comes With Full Roku TV Integration

Back at IFA 2019, TCL showed off a soundbar that they were working on that featured some pretty impressive audio tech. We were surprised at how good it was and we even gave it Ubergizmo’s Best of IFA award. For those who are curious about the soundbar, wonder no more as TCL has unveiled more details at CES 2020.

The soundbar, which is now officially known as the TCL Alto 9+ SoundBar, has been announced. It is the exact same model that was shown off at IFA last year, but there are some more details revealed, such as how it will be among the first soundbars to offer full integration with Roku TV.

According to TCL, what this means is that during the initial setup, the Roku TV can automatically configure itself for use with the TCL Alto 9+. The sound settings and sound modes from the TV and soundbar can also be accessed directly through the Roku TV remote, instead of having to access it through a separate remote or app, making it a more seamless experience.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the soundbar, what made it so special is that it uses Ray-Danz reflector technology to help create a wider soundstage. While reflectors aren’t new, putting them into a soundbar is actually a pretty clever idea. This is because due to the size of soundbars, they don’t always sound quite as loud or full compared to full-sized speakers, but the use of the reflectors certainly changes that.
