While we recently covered a smart door lock system with NFC enabled keys, it looks like we have another alternative to it unveiled at CES, 2020.
Kwikset introduced its new ‘Halo Touch’ WiFi-enabled smart lock system that will require you to use your fingerprint to authenticate access and unlock the door.
Of course, there will be a variety of security systems available for your smart home, but with fingerprint authentication, it sounds more convenient than ever.
Kwikset’s Halo Touch smart lock can be tweaked to store up to 100 fingerprints (for 50 users). So, if you consider using this tech – you can have your family members access to your home by setting up their fingerprints.
Also, using the official app, you will be able to monitor it and control access no matter where you are.
It also supports integration with Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa – so you should be good to go if you already have them.
The Halo Touch WiFi smart lock will be available for purchase at $249. It will be made available through several online retailers like Amazon, HomeDepot, Build, etc. in 2020 soon enough.
Kwikset’s fingerprint enabled smart lock seems to be something affordable for what it’s worth – but do you find it good enough? How does it compare to Netatmo’s smart door lock?
