If you were waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 to release this April, you will be disappointed to know that the release date has been moved to September 17, 2020.
It looks like CD PROJECT RED wants to take their time to polish the game the best way they can, similar to why Marvel’s Avengers game delayed the release date.
In their official tweet, they assured that the game is complete and playable. But, even though it’s done, it looks like they want to investigate further and work on it make it better than what fans expect right now.

If you haven’t yet pre-ordered the game, you could wait it out easily. But, if you already pre-ordered it, waiting for the release will be painful – given the hype for the game already.
While every other studio is moving the release date to Q4, 2020 – this might hint at a significant hardware launch (maybe a new GPU? new consoles?) for which they might have to work on.
Of course, we do not know that for sure – but it is indeed unusual that several game studios have started to move the release dates of their titles.
For CD PROJECT RED, this delay might also give them time to launch along with the multiplayer mode – who knows?
