However, according to UBS analysts Timothy Arcuri and Munjal Shah, they believe that with the 2020 iPhones, Apple could bump up the amount of RAM that the phones are packing. They believe that with the larger iPhone models with the triple lens setup, it could be upgraded to as much as 6GB of RAM.
As for Apple’s other iPhones launching in 2020, they might come with 4GB of RAM, which is what last year’s models were packing. While we do appreciate the upgrade in RAM, we can’t help but feel that this could potentially create a divide between the iPhones in terms of what apps can run on them and in terms of iOS upgrades.
For example, in the future it could be that only certain 2020 iPhones can be upgraded to the next major iOS build due to having more RAM, while the others can’t, which would be a bit unfair to customers. Either way, nothing’s been confirmed yet so take it with a grain of salt for now.
