However, the good news is that if you use Twitter and would love to upload Live Photos, you’ll be pleased to learn that Twitter has announced that their platform will now support it. Users who have Live Photos that they want to upload onto Twitter can now do so where it will be shared as a GIF. This means that even users without the iPhone can view it in animated form.

This solves some of the problems with Live Photos where typically it can only be viewed in its original form if you’re looking at it on an iOS device. If not, when it is uploaded onto other platforms, typically it gets converted into a GIF or a short video. That being said, users who do not want to upload the photo as a GIF will still have the option of uploading it like a regular photo. All they need to do is avoid tapping the GIF button during the upload process and it will be shared on Twitter as a regular still photo.
