However, according to a tweet by Ice Universe, he is claiming that for the next-gen Galaxy Fold, apparently Samsung will be switching to a glass cover instead of plastic. The leakster also claims that as a result of using glass, it will result in a device that is flatter and has less wrinkles than its predecessor, although we have to wonder about durability.
It is believed that Samsung is working on a new Galaxy Fold device. Ice Universe had previously shared leaked images suggesting that there could be a new change in design, where it would adopt a clamshell design similar to that of the Motorola Razr. Samsung had also previously showed off similar concept images so it’s not exactly a surprise.
It can be confirmed that the Galaxy Fold2 leaked not long ago will use an ultra-thin glass cover for the first time in the world, replacing plastic materials. The screen looks flatter and has less wrinkles. In fact, this is the correct cover material for foldable phones. pic.twitter.com/BS73BCsA4N

That being said, we believe that this could simply be another variant of the Galaxy Fold instead of being its true successor, but whether or not that is true remains to be seen. Until we can get the official confirmation, do take it with a grain of salt for now.
