Earlier this year, Google launched the Pixel 3a. The phone is basically a more budget-friendly version of Google’s flagship smartphone launched in 2018. Based on the reviews, it seems that many can appreciate Google’s efforts to try and create a more affordable version of their Pixel flagship smartphones.
As such, as we expect that the trend will continue where come 2020, Google may very well launch the Pixel 4a, the budget variant of its 2019 Pixel 4 flagship devices. Now thanks to a collaboration between @OnLeaks and 91mobiles.com, renders of the handset have made their way online, showing off what we might be able to expect from it.
According to the renders, it seems that the Pixel 4a won’t deviate too far from the current Pixel design. It also shows that Google could be using a hole-punch display similar to what Samsung has done with its smartphones versus the notch, and it also looks like Google will be keeping the 3.5mm audio jack around.
What’s interesting is the camera module on the back of the phone. This is because the rumors are claiming that it will be a single camera design, so we’re not sure if such a boxy module is needed to begin with. The renders also seem to confirm a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Take these renders with a grain of salt, but if we are basing this on the Pixel 3a, there is a good chance the Pixel 4a could be announced at Google I/O 2020 in the first half of 2020.
