Motorola had initially planned on launching pre-orders for the handset after Christmas where the company anticipated that it would begin shipping out to customers in early January, but it seems that pre-orders have now been delayed. According to the company, this is due to “unparalleled excitement” for the handset which has led to higher than expected demand.
According to Motorola, “Motorola has decided to adjust razr’s presale and launch timing to better meet consumer demand. We are working to determine the appropriate quantity and schedule to ensure that more consumers have access to razr at launch.” However, the company notes that while pre-orders might be kicking off later than expected, they do not anticipate that it will affect the phone’s generally availability.
The Motorola Razr will cost customers $1,500, making it one of the more affordable foldable smartphones today. While it might not be packing the most impressive hardware specs, initial reactions to the phone seem to be pretty good, more so compared to some of the other foldable devices that have launched this year.
