With every iPhone, Apple bundles a pair of earphones. They’re not necessarily the best quality earphones, but they get the job done. However, it seems that come 2020, Apple could be changing things up in a huge way. This is according to a report from DigiTimes who claims that with the 2020 iPhones, Apple could bundle a set of AirPods.
The report claims that companies such as Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi are apparently looking to bundle “TWS” earbuds next year, which refers to “true wireless stereo” earphones. We’re not sure what Apple has to gain by bundling the AirPods, which is actually one of Apple’s hottest selling accessories in recent years.
By bundling them, we imagine that Apple will no doubt lose quite a bit of revenue. Either that or Apple will increase the price of its iPhones, which we’re not sure if it will sit well with customers who may or may not be thrilled with the idea of using the AirPods. That being said, DigiTimes does not have the best track record when it comes to Apple rumors, so it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now.
Alternatively, it is possible that maybe Apple could come up with a cheaper and maybe lower-quality version of the AirPods, but this is just speculation on our part, so like we said, it’s best to take it with a grain of salt for now.
