Note that this seems to mostly (or maybe only) affect MacBook Pros that were released mid-year and only affect the entry-level 13-inch models. If you’re using an older 13-inch entry-level MacBook Pro, there is a good chance you’re not affected, but if you are, it could be related to something else.
It is unclear as to what could be prompting this issue, but Apple’s support document does highlight some steps that users can take in order to try and fix it. This is because Apple is requiring users bring the battery of their laptops down to below 90%, connect it to a power adapter, turn it on, quit all applications, and leave it charging for at least 8 hours.
Users are then required to update to the latest version of macOS, which apparently should address the problem. It seems like a very odd and specific set of steps, but if you are experiencing unexpected shut downs, then you could try this method, failing which you probably should contact Apple for further support.
