This is according to an internal memo sent to Apple Authorized Service Providers that was obtained by MacRumors. According to the memo, “When using Final Cut Pro X, Logic Pro X, QuickTime Player, Music, Movies, or other applications to play audio, users may hear a pop come from the speakers after playback has ended. Apple is investigating the issue. A fix is planned in future software updates. Do not set up service, or replace the user’s computer, as this is a software-related issue.”
Prior to this, some users had speculated that this issue could have been caused by apps such as Final Cut Pro, and it looks like based on this memo, they were partially right. Also, oddly enough, this is actually not the first time we’re hearing about the MacBooks experiencing popping sounds.
It’s odd that Apple did not manage to fix the problem despite it not being a new one, but in any case, hopefully the software update will address the issue.
