As some of you might have heard, Netflix has a new series in the works in the form of The Witcher, which many gamers might be familiar with. Last we heard, the company was said to be very happy with what they’ve seen so far, which is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that the company has since officially renewed the series for a second season.
This shows that Netflix is pretty confident about the future of the series, which actually speaks volumes since the first season has actually yet to be released. Netflix is expected to begin airing the series on the 20th of December, so we guess we’ll have to wait and see how good it actually turns out.
For those unfamiliar, The Witcher is both a game and a book. While The Witcher might be more familiar to gamers as a fantastic RPG, the series on Netflix will actually be based more on the book rather than the game, so don’t be surprised if what you see isn’t the same as what you’ve played in the game.

The series stars Henry Cavill, who is known to be a huge fan of video games, as the protagonist Geralt. In the past, video game adaptations have never really worked out particularly well, so it will be interesting to see how this series turns out given its unique position as both a book and a video game series.
