Earlier this year, the official trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released and it featured a very weird looking Sonic. This was met with massive backlash from the internet, which prompted the studio to delay the release of the movie while they went back to the drawing board to fix the character’s design.
The good news is that the delay of the movie was a great idea because in a new trailer released by Paramount, it seems that the studio has managed to come up with a new design that is more reminiscent of the original design of the character that fans might recognize from the video games.
We’re not sure what might have prompted the studio to have tried to recreate the character to begin with, but this looks at least a thousand times better and more familiar. So far the comments on the new trailer are largely positive with fans expressing their happiness with this new design.
Sonic the Hedgehog movie was originally meant to be released this month, but it has since been delayed to February 2020. Whether or not the actual movie will be good remains to be seen, but at least in terms of character design, we’re definitely not complaining.
