Pokémon Go is already one of the most successful AR games available for Android and iOS.
However, with the recent announcement Niantic Labs is planning to take the Pokémon Go experience to the next level.
A multiplayer feature dubbed ‘Buddy Adventure’ (working title) is being worked on. It will be a shared AR experience through a mobile platform in one of the most immersive experiences.
The new multiplayer AR feature will not only allow you to interact with your Pokémon but you will also be able to see how your friend interacts with their Pokemon in real-time.
It really sounds like an interesting idea that should introduce a whole new level of immersive experience in the game.
In addition to shared AR experience, it will also support cross-platform play so that you can play with your friends no matter what (Android/iOS) smartphone you have.
You just select your Buddy and join in on an adventure with another player. For now, they have shared their plans to implement it and the ability that you will be getting.
However, there’s no word on how it will actually work in-game.
If properly implemented, this should boost Pokémon Go’s player base yet again and we could end up watching people walk by on the road playing this soon enough. What do you think?
