According to the Surrey Police in England, it appears that a man’s life might have been saved after his Apple Watch managed to call for help on his behalf after he got into a car accident. As he had been rendered unconscious in the accident, the Apple Watch had registered the accident as a “fall”.
While the details of the accident is scarce, we can only assume that the man involved in the accident could not respond to the prompt on his watch, which in turn then allowed the watch to make a call to emergency services on his behalf, leading them to his location where he was presumably transported to the hospital and tended to.

This is actually not the first time that we’ve heard that the Apple Watch has managed to save a life in a car crash, thus proving how invaluable the feature is. That being said, the feature is only enabled by default for those who are 65 years old and above, but if you want to turn it on for yourself, you can check out our guide here.
