A couple of months ago, Amazon announced their own set of true wireless earbuds in the form of the Amazon Echo Buds. The rumors, leading up to the announcement, suggested that it could come with features like built-in workout tracking, but unfortunately, the earbuds launched without those features present.
However, in a new report from CNBC, it has been revealed that Amazon is apparently working on enabling those features. This was discovered during the use of a testing unit of the Echo Buds, where CNBC found the upcoming features in the Alexa app. So far, based on the testing that they’ve done, the feature seems to work pretty much as advertised.
It came with instructions on how to use it and it also seemed to be capable of tracking the workout, where it would read out to them the results of their workout. This seems to suggest that the feature is quite far along in its development and could potentially be released soon, that is if Amazon does choose to go ahead with it.
The company has since declined to comment on the discovery of the feature, so at this point in time, it is unclear as to what will become of the feature.
